MR of Slough
MR contacted us as a result of buying and reading one of our fundraising leaflets.
She is raising funds to help a local family of a single mum with two disadvantaged children. Son D is aged 13 and has Aspergers Syndrome. Daughter C is 16 years old, mentally and physically disabled, and has the faculties of a child of about nine months.
The task is to build some decking so that C can safely go into the garden. She can only move by shuffling on her bottom but she will enjoy the open space.
MR has raised £820 from two Lions Clubs, a Rotary Club and from personal efforts and needs up to a further £1500 to enable the work to proceed.
At the time of approaching us, MR had also contacted other Rotary Clubs and was awaiting their response.
We supported this application once the additional Rotary Clubs had given their answer – and placed £1500 on deposit in readiness.
