At the request of her local Citizen's Advice Bureau, we had already helped NC to have a respite break.
They subsequently told us that NC had the chance to teach at a dance school but could not do so as she couldn't afford playgroup arrangements for her own children.
This opportunity would allow NC to resume her dancing skills, teach them to groups of children - some of whom were from disadvantaged backgrounds - and allow her own children to enjoy a mum who had interests outside the home and who could come off benefits.
It needed a substantial sum of money to fund the playgroups but our trustees happily made this available.
NC and her children now enjoy an improved life, with activities outside the home, and NC’s pupils benefit from dancing lessons that would otherwise have ceased with the impending retirement of the school’s principal.
A good result which benefits a large number of people!
