VB of Gwynedd In Wales
VB was a single mum who lives with daughter, A, who was nine years old.
A has cerebral palsy and hydrocephalus and is wheelchair bound.
They lived in Northampton with VB’s partner who suddenly ditched them and went to live in Torquay.
VB had no income, no friends nearby, and saw no alternative but to move back to Wales to be among the friends she had there.
The Welsh authorities would not house them for some months as they considered she had made herself homeless by leaving Northampton but, in reality, what choice did she have?
A friend in Wales allowed VB and A to live with her until the council were able to provide alternative accommodation.
Things were not good for VB and A and we were pleased to allocate £500 for a holiday break - to be taken when they were ready.
