AH of Buckinghamshire
AH and her partner have a son K who was 4 years old. He has cerebral palsy, cannot walk, and can move only by laborious crawling.
They live on benefits and have to scrimp each week to afford the basic necessities of even food and clothing - AH has to rely on her mum to top them up.
Living with severe disability and barely enough for day-to-day living without parental support - life is really tough on this family.
AH wrote to a Manchester charity that she saw fund raising in her area and who claimed to help the needy but, after several months, she had received no response.
(The charity in question adjusted it’s name very slightly around 2004/2005 and were issued with a new registration number - in spite of the regulator's published concerns about it's former structure and behaviour.)
Our trustees supported AH’s request for a respite break at a Haven Holiday site at a cost of £750 including some spending money.
