Like most people, Jo learned of Helping Children Locally by buying and reading one of our explanatory leaflets.
Daughter E was aged 7 and has ADHD. Jo has two other daughters, aged 4 and 14. They live on income support, child benefit and tax credit with just £40 per month maintenance from Jo's ex-husband - things are tight!
E has low self-esteem with high energy levels typical of ADHD and she attend a gymnastics club to help deal with these problems.
The family had not been able to escape from the daily routine for ages and, with the pressures of court hearings, local authorities, mediation services, psychological specialists and pediatricians, it took it's toll on all of them.
We made a grant of £450 to cover E’s membership of the gymnastics club plus a long weekend at a holiday centre on the south coast.
