Camber Lodge is an 8 bedded Learning Disability Home based in Camber on the East Sussex coast and is a short walk from a vast expanding sandy beach, popular with holiday makers and locals alike. OverviewOur Home consists of 3 ground floor rooms and 5 1st floor rooms, all with spacious ensuite facilities and stair lift access. We have a large, bright lounge with a separate dining room and outside we have a large secure patio area to the rear of the property to enable outside activities such as barbecues. Our aim is to promote ‘quality of life’ for our residents regardless of the severity of their disability. To help us achieve this aim, we hold regular residents meetings to encourage our residents to assist us in decisions that can affect their daily lives, such as menu planning, activities and outing planning. Our residents are assisted to keep their own rooms tidy and to complete their own laundry, this gives them a feeling of responsibility for their own personal environment and helps them feel more independent. ActivitiesOur residents enjoy a wide range of activities. Local facilities include riding stables, local shops, pubs, libraries, gym, swimming, hydrotherapy pools and local disabled discos. We have access to larger services such as Hastings College which runs a variety of courses for disabled students. This participation gives our residents the opportunity to meet new people and make new friends in the local community. We have regular visits from a chiropractor and aromatherapist, our local GP surgeries and Community Learning Disability Team also assist us with care. StaffCamber Lodge is managed by Lesley Oliver. Lesley is committed to providing the best possible care for residents and with the assistance of an excellent, highly committed staff team, achieve a relaxed and welcoming environment for both our residents and visitors alike. |
